Some restful days in Eldoret, Kenya

Hassan and Mohammed, Eldoret, Kenya

Munira and Mohammed, Eldoret, Kenya
For me, Eldoret was the perfect place for some days of relaxing. Here lives Hassan, the brother of Yusuf, with his family. Here, I spent nearly a week. It felt good to have some lazy days after these long truck and bus rides. To sleep well, eat well, nothing important to organize, working on my website or just sit on the sofa reading for an hour or two.

Also nice - watching in Kenya the movie “Madagascar", this nice movie about the lion and his friends, who desperately want to go back to New York zoo, because that's their home....

Very exciting was my trip with the local milkman. The milkman comes every morning on a motorbike with big canisters full of milk, which he distributes to his customers. As a measure he uses a big plastic cup. Of course

I wanted to see where the milk comes from and how the farmers live. It was a wonderful afternoon on the motorbike to different farms, with many cows, goats and chickens. Moreover, a small factory in which in a gigantic din big stones are chopped up. The dust there is also indescribable - the noise as well! The fact that it has started to rain at the end, was rather positive as negative - so we stopped in the village of the milkman. And so I got to know his wife and two of his three children. The family lives in a house of the size of a German garage. In the front, they have a little shop, where the wife sells milk, sodas, tea, sugar, biscuits, etc. The remaining space is divided by a cloth after the length. Behind it is the bedroom; the rest of the room is filled with a big table, a sofa and three plastic chairs. Cooking is done outside on a small cooker with charcoal. Bath and toilet the family shares with a few other families of the same compound.
